Funded Clinical Research

Funded clinical research is directed towards participation in multi or single center trials of management of stroke, including subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracerebral and intraventricular hemorrhage and head injury. A senior research coordinator, a research nurse and a data management specialist support this research with funding from an NIH UO1, two NIH contracts (for multi centered studies) and two industry grants.

While residents participate regularly in these prospective studies, the use of resident elective time for this purpose is not encouraged. Throughout the training period, residents regularly participate with faculty in retrospective studies. The department provides assistance in the areas of reference, search, manuscript typing, illustration and graphics.
