Welcome from the Chairman: At the University of Maryland School of Medicine, the Department of Neurosurgery takes great pride in the optimal care of its patients, the highly supervised training of its neurosurgical residents and its dedication to scientific research. While managing patients who have a wide variety of neurosurgical conditions, the department places special emphasis on cerebrovascular surgery, neuro-oncology, complex spine surgery, skull based and acoustic neuromas, epilepsy surgery, Gamma Knife radiosurgery and surgery for movement disorder.
